I'm English and I can confirm everything you said here is true, particularly making fun of friends. Some of the things you say to you best friends would be unacceptable in most countries. But we use insults to show our love haha.

I also work with colleagues from the US and I am pretty sure some sarcastic comments I make they think I am being serious. And overall, they are way more positive than us. Great article
